Duties

  • Lead lively and informative food tours, guiding groups through various culinary and historic stops with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Foster a welcoming environment by demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Share detailed stories about local cuisine, history, and culture to enrich guests’ experience
  • Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout the tour by managing group dynamics, food allergies, and dietary requirements, and addressing questions or concerns
  • Manage timing, route adjustments, and restaurant interactions to ensure a seamless experience


Requirements

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work both weekdays and weekends, be on-call with 24 hours’ notice, and be available for 3-hour tours with start times ranging from 11 AM to 1 PM
  • BA or MA in the humanities strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in guiding tours, hospitality, or customer service roles preferred
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to captivate audiences of all sizes
  • Excellent communication and memorization skills to clearly and accurately convey stories, instructions, and safety information
  • Proven time management skills to balance tour schedules efficiently
  • Teaching or educational experience is a plus for sharing knowledge engagingly
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities highly desirable to connect with a broader range of guests
